I don't have a green thumb.
I don't have a green toe or pinky either, and the only green things in my house are plants my dad, a florist for 60 years, has nurtured and placed in my presence.
I admit, I try, but I don't KNOW what I do, or don't do. Green things tend to die just to escape me. Greenery hates me right down to my front lawn - or barren zone, if you will.
It needs a desperate make-over.
I have SO many glorious ideas: marigolds, ornate statutes, rocks, stones, pebbles.
ANYTHING to replace the wasteland.
When I moved in three years ago, it was weeded, but I have somehow managed to even kill the weeds!
All that remains are dandelions.
I'm almost embarrassed.
I've sought assistance but in today's economy, who can spend $5,000.00 on landscaping?
So three years plus, three years and counting. Dust, dirt and dandies ...

House:
When we moved in to our second houee (in Waukesha, Wisconsin) the yard had a lot more weeds than grass.
The first spring that we lived there, I called one of the professional lawn care services, and they came out 4 or 5 times the first year.
Each application cost me about $50.
We continued to use professional lawn care services for a lot of years after that.
Within a year of the time that they first came out, I had the nicest lawn on the block.
If you did the same, you'd be singing the song listed below in no time:

Tom,
I need HELP! Know of a good landscaper?? Im going to watch the video now - hope it makes me laugh!
Oh heck yeah. My yard is crying. I can only imagine what its former owners think of their once lush and properly cared for gardens...
House:
We used three different lawn care services over the years to help our lawn prosper. We used both TruGreen and Greenview, and eventually wound up with Scots. By now, I think all of them have "organic" lawn treatment options.
We didn't get aroudn to planting shrubs until a number of years after the house was built, so there is no rush for that .. unless you feel really ambitious.
@ Tracy - im crying! lol
@ Tom, thank you I will investigate - meanwhile the dandies are happy and multiplying!
