Your Piece of the P.I.E.

You may recall reading about Omar the Pie Man back on NOLA SUNDAYS ~ November 25, 2007. It is such an inspiring piece because Pre-Katrina, Omar Aziz's family had been allotted a $10,000 endowment by New Orlean's City Council to assist toward establishment of a statute . A likeness in his image and a plaque (which was dedicated in October 2007) will one day grace the French Quarter where he frequented on foot selling his tasty pies.

Omar Aziz, Jr. who inherited the legacy and the name ( you can view the youtube video by DocNo again here here ) has been in touch with me giving me more in depth accounts of the mission for P.I.E. Interactive or Participating In Entrepreneurship and reviving New Orleans, and what we can all do to help! We learned in the earlier post that the pie operation is being overseen by Gloria Peaden 5346 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero Louisiana, but there is a vision to make this so much more. The legacy must continue, and it is hoped that it will carry on to encourage entrepreneurship and controlling destinies ~ creating economic development where there is a history of consumerism ~ changing lives!
