Many of you do not live where you have to see them everyday.
I work in a government building.
It was a very, particularly somber, heart-wrenching symbolic gesture.
Everyday I bowed my head in memorial.
Our country was birthed by genocide and slavery. The time has come for us to apologize to ourselves. We are the product of rapes and pillaging. I think, once we lift our voices to amend the brutality and the actions of our ancestors to our ancestors we can move beyond the violence that is destroying us.
