Every August since August 25, 2001, I become so nostalgic. Aaliyah's tragic departure from this world left such a void for me because she was my favorite female R & B artist.
Her genius becomes more apparent to me as the years go by because no one has come close to her talent.
Here in "4-Page Letter" I just marvel at the sensuality of the one simple refrain. She gets you to a longing, passionate place by stating "I'm writing him a 4 page letter and I've enclosed it with a kiss..."
No "booty", no "I got your xxxx" and no vileness! Just pure talent!
Most of today's female artist probably have never even written a letter!
Oh, Aaliyah ... I'm still missing you!!
