As Chicago, and much of the country, remain under this arctic blur, we would be remiss if we did not suspect global neglect as part, or all, of what is going on here.

And well, if it is not, this site still offers a comprehensive line of thinking to get us all in the mode of healthier, happier planet conservation!

Oprah, Obama, Blogie and the pips~

Okay, is this a first? Triple POST today?

Our friend Tom Brennan shared this today, and it is timely so I wanted to add it to the mixture of today's posts!

It is a HAPPY birthday to Oprah. But as I sit to write this, our Governor Rod Blagojevich has been removed from office in the impeachment process, also worthy of commentary!

So, first things first ~

Oprah
contributed by Tom Brennan,

Born: Oprah Gail Winfrey

29th January 1954 Mississippi, United States

Known For : American television presenter, media mogul with her internationally-syndicated talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, a magazine publisher.

She has been ranked the richest African American of the 20th century.

Last year during the Presidential elections and earlier during the Democratic primary race many think she delivered over a million votes for Barack Obama through her support and some call her one of the most influential woman in the world.

All this is far from her humble beginnings in rural Mississippi where she was raped as a young girl and was pregnant by the time she was 14.

Her wealth is estimated at over 2 billion dollars which she has amassed due to her hard work and strong business skills to make her one of the richest women in the world.

Now that she is 55, she can qualify for the senior discount at Denny's !

..........................................................................

Thanks, Tom, I just was so tickled thinking of Oprah eating at Denny's!!

Thinking about Denny's made me think about dining with the average family. That made me think about the average Illinoisan, which made me think about what happened today.

We the people were not privy as to what is being said on those tapes.

Former Governor Rod Blagojevich is just an average Joe. Like Joe the Plumber, Like Dubya and like many of us. I can't help but feel hypocritical. When I think too hard about mankind and our frailties, I become discouraged by our processes.

Some of our elected official have the education of fleas. I know my own senator, wow, be careful when you move out of one district into another! How did some of these folks get elected?? I really question legislators who are about as smart as me, running things. And trust me, I am NOT smart! Some of the senators butchered the Kings English today at the impeachment hearing, some could barely speak English and reading the bios of others, well, I stand here confused.

People may not chose public service because there is not one single chance, unless you are corrupt, to make ends meet. Some may chose to serve because being charming is about all they can do. Then some are encouraged to meet a broader base's agenda.

How does the public decipher? They don't. It is a popularity contest and we, the poor public, are left holding laws that don't serve us, and well, typically we are too busy drowning in some sort fiscal irresponsibility, or at the hands of crime or some other melee to care.

At the federal level, I am enraged at the GOP still, for their unwavering hammering of the stimulus package. Today's target is R-Bob Bennett from Utah who was quoted as saying this:

"As an American I want to see the right thing done regardless of who gets the credit," Bennett said. "I'm going to vote against this package because it won't work."
~ Senator Bob Bennett

I in turn emailed him this:

You don't speak for me or to me but yet my future may be in your hands. Experience as a legislator is something I am sure you can account for but as we are all painfully aware, conservative ideals have been in play for 8 years and they have managed to destroy the world and send us decades backward economically. Give this package a chance. The new President is highly educated, has international background and is rightfully poised to consider this package as something positive. Education, rural and inner city, infrastructure, and the arts have been ignored. Yes we need jobs, but we need a more educated country to overcome bigotry and divide, and unemployment.

Our counterparts can speak our language, can we speak theirs? No.

I have the utmost respect for your service to this country, but in your record, education and bio there is not much conveying that you alone can make such a broad assessment. You have requested more funding for Utah rural schools, for roads in your state, so how can you say "no"? It sounds partisan, and uncooperative.

I hope you will reconsider, and urge your fellow party members as well that this is no longer just about conservative constituencies. This affects us all. The globe, the planet as a unit, needs all of the package, family planning included, and we need it today. Stop ignoring the majority. It is ignorance and short-sighted common points of view that have engaged us in two wars and encouraged fear and ignorance across this great globe. Education, infrastructure, and arts engage the young minds that are turning to gangs, drugs and other heinous activities. Invest in the people today. It will make a better world.

Thank you for your time.

********************
I urge us all to remain vigilant. Hypocrisy in government is rampant. Unless you have a halo, you are human. I hate finger pointers. But until we open every one of our elected officials closets we don't know what is in there and truthfully, I don't want to know. I don't want to know who they sleep with, who they praise, who they let cut their hair. ALL I care about is if they steal, lie or cheat on their taxes.

I want a fair government. I want an open government. I want legislation that preserves our way of life. I think every child should be over-educated. Children should know 5 languages and all about the arts. They should know music and all about other countries and their cultures.

We should not have to worry about bridges falling on our heads. We should not care if you win an election and give your friend Bob who saved your cat from being run over when you were ten a job if he is qualified.

Honestly, make it simple. Make it effective and make it right.

AND email these conservatives who are holding up progress!!

You can feel free to add R- Bob Bennett to your list by clicking HERE!

Okay, rant rant rant! I'm done!

Another Double Post Today!

Sorry, but things ARE a changing and we just have to keep up!

I'm doing my usual morning news surf and behold!

Oh my GOODNESS and shake a tailfeather...Google has news from AL-Jazeera today???

We WERE under federal censorship weren't we????? I am so pissed and excited all at the same time.

I can't wait to learn about the rest of the world without the "Bush" lens on!

WHHOOOHOOOO!!!

Interesting when time permits...

Sorry...

for this intrusion into an already posted day, BUT this was in our local paper and it made me laugh!

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES

Apparently Washington had a bit of an ice-storm and the city shut-down leaving our new President a bit beleaguered. You see, Chicago NEVER shuts down.

I have been at the TASTE of Chicago when a wall cloud hit the SEARS TOWER, and Chicago did not shut-down. 30 below, bring it on!

The last time we shut down was when City Hall flooded, and heck, I think they still conducted business at the Harold Washington Library, so please understand, President was not being snippy, just a bit perturbed.

Chicago is a city that works, albeit crookedly sometimes, but it does not ever close...and it sounds like Chicago has come to Washington, work ethic and all.

Speaking of WASHINGTON, I REALLY hope that the GOP stifle their buttoned up agendas and give the stimulus package a chance. I can not stress enough that we need to call the WHITE HOUSE in support of the package as it is, WITH the FAMILY PLANNING STATE OPTION, and all the other bells and whistles.

It is really becoming apparent the GOP would feel better supporting a war or conflict, or some secret organization who will provide jobs and line a few of their pockets, than to invest directly into the population.

We NEED this IV feeding into the veins directly, uninterrupted by their tactics, nurturing our minds and ideas!

The proposed agenda ensures a promise so that our children can get the education that many parents are paying for right now instead of paying their mortgages. This is not "burying our children and grand-children" as Representative Boehner suggests. This is giving them the tools they need to prosper, honestly, these guys are really laying the bacon grease on thick ~ give it up guys! This time, everyone is getting a piece, not just the rich and the wonderful!

The GOP is SO short-sighted that I feel that they are gagging us into more years of the scare-rhetoric and tight-lipped conservatism. Education - education - education!!!

Be it in the arts, family planning, or be it in the school system fund it now! 8 years of no funding is producing more scared, short-sighted, people who can not interact with the globe ~ or worse, it is producing people who simply are disfunctional and anti-social from lack of well-rounded learning.

NOT exactly Black History, but American nonetheless...

The Marine that went to war
contributed by our friend Thomas Brennen

He was born on January 12, 1923.

He died on January 24, 1955.

Although both of those dates are close to the birth date of Martin Luther King and the inauguration date of the President of the United States, there are very few people in this great country of ours that will take note of them.

He was a hero to the American people, but all he really wanted was to live a simple life in the state that he was born in.

Like both Martin Luther King and Barack Obama, he would be considered a minority in a country where that term no longer has any meaning, since those who are of a minority race will soon be the majority of our population.

Like all of us, he achieved successes that he would have thought to be impossible at an earlier age.

Like all of us, he had flaws.

His story is immortalized in both song and film, and the President of the United States heaped praise on him, but none of that brought him any joy.

His name was Ira Hayes.

Hayes is buried in Section 34 of Arlington National Cemetery. At the funeral, fellow flag-raiser Rene Gagnon said of him: "Let's say he had a little dream in his heart that someday the Indian would be like the white man — be able to walk all over the United States."

On Loving Lalah

Gong Xi Fa Cai! 4707! Happy Year OF The Ox! Happy Chinese New Year from the House!

I LOVE Lalah Hathaway.

Daughter of beloved Danny Hathaway, Lalah's voice has a depth and range that reaches way, way down deep into the soul.

She, like Faith Evans, is so underappreciated.

The talent is just awesome.

Enjoy the first day of the Chinese New Year with a black spin to it ~ now that every day is going to be Black History, and I have an inkling that we are well on our way to finally being simply part of American history, please bear with me...I just love Black History month and I'm gonna ride it out as long as I can ~ Enjoy this day!

ACTION DAY

I've been listening to Ohio's Representative John Boehner making his rounds in vehement opposition to the Obama Administration's stimulus package and I have emailed him a note.

If you feel as I do, take part. We have an opportunity to keep in the loop.

Congressman Boehner is the 8th District representative for Ohio, and also is the Republican Leader of the House. His website proclaims that funding education and infrastructure is wasteful government spending. Congressman Boehner beliefs are to eliminate the taxing and he would much rather create jobs. He then cites that this proposed policy will be on the backs of our children. He believes it is a deficit that they will end up "paying" for in the future.

Well I feel that the trillion dollar a day war we financed is on our children's future and their children's future as well. We OWE them this proposed package.

While I understand spending is not from one giant governmental pot, I also understand that the war took funding, lives, and efforts that could have been directed toward educating our society, job training and other programs that were eliminated by Republicans.

Many of our children, and the children of the world, need to be educated to respect one another and populate politely while respecting all life.

That is my stand.

Infrastructure needs attention so that bridges do not collapse while you are on your way to work. Building up schools and hospitals to accommodate new technology so that our children stop shooting one another and learn a trade is not wasteful.

I told Representative Leader John Boehner...now you please tell him what you think as well! If you agree with him tell him! AND IF YOU DON'T, REALLY tell him. It takes two seconds.

United States Republican Representative and Leader John Boehner

when he trying to git this money for the rent..."

Today you get a 'TOOFA" ~ a two for one. Now that I have spent unnecessary funds attempting to eliminate the bug from my computer, I have been blessed to find that the best programs in life are free!

Malwarebytes.org is what ultimately cleared this "whatever" it was up, (Thank you CNet) so now the House is clear! (sighs ~ relief)

A few days ago the nominations for the Oscar unfolded and I was so excited to hear that Taraji P. Henson was nominated for Best Supporting Actress!!!

Image property of Paramount Pictures

Her portrayal as Shug in the movie "Hustle and Flow" was so moving. When Terence Howard's character DJ finally realized he loved her and kissed her, it was like Rhett and Scarlet...the passion, the depth...both of their performances were outstanding.

It was so evident she could slip into character so deeply. I am so happy for her.

She has been in the business since 1997. Born in Washington D.C. and relative to the explorer who discovered the Arctic North Pole, Matthew Henson, she has been destined for greatness and I wish her all of the best.

Her relative met and accompanied Commander Robert E. Peary on several expeditions as an experienced seaman and navigator. Matthew Henson studied the Inuit and mastered their language(wikipedia).

In 1909 they banded together again on a mission to the North Pole. A group of 6 headed out, but it was ultimately Matthew Henson who tracked to the site and planted the American Flag.

I need not have to tell you that because he was black, his accomplishment went unhonored for many years, but ultimately he received proper recognition...none that I ever learned about in school, but I do recall seeing him over the years because my Daddy made us read JET Magazine. It was the only link in the late 70s-80s that let black folk know that they were not all shuckin and jiving and raiding corner stores.

Growing up in my educational system, we only learned of George Washington Carver, Dr. King and Malcolm X. We knew that Hattie McDaniel, Ida B Wells and Harriet Tubman were also a phenomenon, but the bigger picture is that the world just would not exist the way it is today if it weren't for the selfless contribution of the inventive black mind.

I must have been 25 before I learned of the black inventions of the stoplight and modern refigeration of food!

At any rate, hooray for Taraji and to her the best of luck on February 22nd!!

JUST when.....

we had filed away ALL of the silly sayings and buried into the far recesses of our poor battered minds the nonsensical diatribes about "war" and "axis of evil". Just when we had sighed a deep breath of relief, a Bush supporting dimwit, and former speech writer, submits an attacking editorial on our HOPE Administration.

I would have to do a time-line to figure out which speeches this maniac's words lent Mr. Bush his retarded, racist, fear-instilling rhetoric, but REALLY, I think we have heard all we really need to hear from Mark Thiessen and his half-witted Texas-talking head.

And to think I worked so hard on being healthier and happier earlier today!

Maybe I am being a bit harsh, but anyone who lends credence, or better yet, validates such idealism within the language of their speeches, is a racist and a hate monger.

Within this editorial, Mr. Thiessen attacks President Obama for rescinding the harmful and alienating orders placed in motion when Bush issued the order of war on Iraq. Mr. Thiessen further states, "Whether Barack Obama is standing on the Capitol steps to be sworn in a second time depends on whether he succeeds in replicating Bush's achievement".

Whoa, WHAT???!!!!!

He then proceeds to expound his idea by stating we've had 2,688 days with no attacks on U.S. soil due to the Bush Administration's hard-ball tactics.

Uh, yeh, thats right, and in the process we became "Enemy to the world". We became abhorrent and infanticidal. We tortured and maimed for reasons not known to the public under the shroud of verbiage that horrified us of our neighbors because they were different.

Mr. Thiessen's words used our ignorance toward other cultures to give them permission to pillage lands and kill women's husbands and children's fathers for oil, power and greed.

I do not want terror on this land. Of course I don't. I am certain our President does not either. Mr. Thiessen suggests that giving peace a chance is just too big of a cost. Well, I am willing to pay any price for a return to integrity, tolerance, acceptance and love. These are the things that America is about.

My freedom and right to peace is not for sale, and certainly is not to be arbitrarily revoked by propaganda and scare-jargon. Eight is enough.

Feel free to read Mark Thiessen's input here.

I for one will run the other way the next time I see his name. It never occurred to me that he was one of the poor souls putting that garbage in Bush's mouth from 2001-2009; could Bush himself have done a better job??:

"When I get home tonight and look in the mirror, I’m not going to regret what I see," Bush said, "except maybe some gray hair." ~ George W. Bush

Nope, he won't regret the state of the economy, racist federal responses, global views of the U.S., not even the lives lost from his misinformation regarding weapons of mass destruction, his responses to Osama Bin Laden, "Uh I'll git you later", or getting a shoe thrown at him...his only regret is gray hair...Right on Dubya, maybe a bowl of Texas chili will settle me down!

I WILL BE Healthier and Happier TODAY!!!!

I wanted to share some great information on some Oscar nominated talent today, but my laptop must have a virus and is not allowing me to upload photos!

Technology!

I also have some really cool input from our friend Tom Brennan, but again, the tinker is not tinkering at its fullest capacity.

I am experimenting with several anti-virus programs and hope to have everything copacetic by this evening ~ Wish me Luck!!!

In the meantime, I discovered another great blogger on my Womenco Network (Remember Kylie???) and she is phenomenal.

Check her out today for inspiring tips to better yourself and your relationships!

Crystal Hernandez on Interpersonal Excellence

Reading her today gave me such a boost after several hours of frustration last night with my laptop and a loved one! Whew!

Enjoy!

Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave ~

To all of my neighbors who stop in this House from time to time, I just want to wish us all a world anew.

Please go from town hall to village center preaching that our time has come. We can all share in a mutual respect for each other's differences. We can learn about one another without erasure.

Love all mankind. Respect every life. Hold one another's hands as we venture forth on this dawn of a new era.

I am excited to learn from you, about you without fear or conjecture.

My favorite excerpt of President Obama's Inaugural Address is "To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society’s ills on the West - know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist."

I look forward to sharing this new world with you. A world in which we are all holding the reigns!

Blessings and Warm wishes from this House ~

May we be a service to our communities today. May we be an inspiration to our young ones. And may we be full of life and love ~

January 16, 2009

Tuesday at noon...

As we say "Goodbye" and good riddance to President George W. Bush, trust me when I say that I do NOT have a heavy heart.

When President Bill Clinton handed over the reigns to George W. Bush, we were still a nation of promise. (Presidential sex-scandal/balanced budget/surplus/jobs versus Presidential Axis of Evil & weapons of Mass Desruction)

Remnants of President Clinton's Second Inaugural Speech were still lingering in our lobes. I was hanging onto every word that January 20th back in 1997. President Clinton had painted a vision whereas we would globally be crossing "A bridge wide enough and strong enough for every American to cross over to a blessed land of new promise."

In 8 years President George W. Bush managed to systematically remove every brick of that bridge. And for those of us who fell into the icy abyss, well, he let us drown. For those of us who fought, we were killed. And if anyone had picked up a penny or two, well, were were raped, pillaged and robbed.

I attempted to watch President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush on Larry King. President Bush had such a look of humility that I almost cared. But when asked if they had taken President Barack Obama's criticisms personally, the First lady said that she had, and she was a bit ruffled.

I realize that she loves him, but for some of us, it is just so hard to care.

CNN summed it up on Anderson Cooper 360 when, I believe it was David Gergen, stated that he had no idea what glasses they were looking through but that the rest of the globe was clearly looking through something else.

The election was stolen. I will never accept that George Bush was ever legally our President. I just won't. I have never, in 8 years, listened to one speech or news briefing, even as he stood on the smoldering ashes, with firefighters, on Ground Zero.

George Bush just doesn't get it. He never will.

Had he been an honest man, this country was in a position to catapult into a new era of prosperity. That "bubble" may not have burst had we been left to our path and not spending 10 billion dollars a day on two wars.

Had we continued to be pursuers of peace, we could have quietly dealt with Bin Laden somehow and continued our mission of peace in the Arab world.

I am still amazed that George Bush is leaving this position without having been tried as a war criminal.

I will not be sad to see him slither to his gated Texas community where he can live out the remainder of his years as a talking head.

He is threatening to write a memoir. PLEASE spare us. We have Dr. Seuss, we don't need anymore rhymes with no reason.

Tuesday at noon can not come soon enough.

As we say in my community when someone unfavorable leaves a scene...don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya...

Adios, Au revoir, buh-bye, has ta la vista, siyanara, and don't you come back no more...hit it Jack, ciao, farewell, good night!

I'm ready to start Black History Month TODAY!

Please enjoy this post that our friend Thomas Brennan shared with us!

Chicken George

In 1977, ABC aired a twelve hour mini-series called Roots, which was based on Alex Haley’s 1976 book titled Roots: The Saga of an American Family.

Based on the oral history passed down by his female relatives, Mr. Haley traced back his African ancestry to Kunta Kinte, a young boy of the Mandinka tribe, who lived in present day Gambia. He was kidnapped by slave traders in 1767, and brought to America to be sold into slavery.

Once he landed in America, he was renamed Toby.

One of his descendants was a boy named George, born to a female slave as a result of being raped by a white slave owner. At an early age, the young man became skilled at training fighting roosters, which earned him the nickname “Chicken George”.

Mr. Haley earned a Pulitzer Prize for his book in 1977, and the mini-series itself garnered 9 Emmys and a Peabody award.

Like all good stories, the facts have been embellished a little, which doesn’t diminish the fact that it’s still a good story.

Roots:The Saga of an American Family

I thought of Chicken George as I stood in line last night at Jewel.

Although that sounds a little far-fetched, you’ll understand the connection in a few minutes.

To help entertain shoppers while they wait in line, Jewel has installed small televisions at the end of each checkout counter. At the precise moment I was in my line, the image on the screen was that of Dr. Martin Luther King delivering his “I have a dream” speech in Washington, D.C.

At the end of the clip was a reminder that Dr. King’s birthday will be celebrated next Monday, January 19th.

What immediately flashed to mind was the fact that on the very next day, January 20th, a man with an African father will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States.

At some point in time next Tuesday, someone in this country will be listening to the song attached below ….

… and somewhere in heaven, Kunta Kinte will be wearing a big smile.

As you’re aware, Dr. King’s birthday is actually today, January 15th.

As I type this note, the “high” temperature for the day is predicted to be -2 degrees, which makes the term “high” a bit of an oxymoron.

Naturally, that thought brings to mind another song:

If you look closely at the opening credits on this video, you may notice that it was introduced in the movie by a gentleman named Ricardo Montalban.

He died yesterday in Los Angeles at the age of 88. If his family has any sense of history, they’ll line his coffin with Corinthian leather.

******************************************

Thank you so much Tom for sharing these thoughts!

Happy Birthday Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., it took us 241 years, but we have made it to "The Promised Land", sure feels good!!

"Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn't matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people will get to the promised land. And I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord."

~ "I See The Promised Land" speech, April 3, 1968, Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

AND thank you to him, from me, House, for being born.

Had he not been born, chances are I would not be here writing and sharing with you! Afterall my birth certificate reads "Negro" ~ So thanks, and enjoy the rest of this day!

GREASE IS the word....

With all of the major things that are pressing on our minds as of late, I wanted to share with you all something cute.

30 years ago I was fanatical about GREASE! I was, uhhummm, 11 years old, pretty much the same age as my kid today.

When I say fanatical, I mean I had the "album", I had t-shirts, went into the movie several times and would sit all day and watch it over and over with my best girlfriend, would have other girlfriends over to her house and we'd act out every song.

To this day, I still know every word. Every nuance and all the dialogue!

I have not seen any of the live performances. Mainly because I simply LOVED John Travolta (Vinnie Barbarino forever)and Olivia Newton-John. Loved them!

Over the years, from time to time, if it came on television, I would animatedly watch it and share the enthusiasm with my son. He would sigh and proclaim "MOM!"

You know how they do when they think you are being retarded.

SO! Imagine my delight a month ago, when my pre-teen said, "Hey MOM, sing that song from Grease, you know the one ~ "Grease-Lightning".

After I finished...yes, I sang the entire thing, I asked why?

My kid is in the school production! Oh my goodness!!! We've been singing and I have happily been reliving that awesome part of life.

Those of you who share my generational period, those were times of peace and happiness, and simplicity. We walked the streets singing down the middle of a thoroughfare without a fear of gun-fire, rapists, pedophiles, gangs, hit and runs.

NOT that those things did not exist, but life was less harried. There were moments where you could just breathe.

So anyway, just enjoy the memories of Rydell High, The Pink Ladies, the T-Birds and who could forget "You're The One That I Want!"

Enjoy the day!

Are we smart enough for peace??

I apologize, but this post contains very graphic pictures. I pulled this post on December 30, 2008 because it was the holidays. In addition, I also felt that because it was a New Year Holiday there would be some sort of armistice and that Gazans would not continue to be held captive by Hamas and slaughtered by Israel.

I was wrong.

Today, the air strikes continue and a ground attack is imminent. The World has protested and has urged both sides to play nice for the sake of the innocent. And more importantly I thought it would cease for the sake of the children.

Unfortunately it has become obvious these countries are only concerned with raising more angry people who will only know violence as the way to get a viewpoint across.

So unfortunate, in a time of education and technology, that people still choose to fight.

We in the States have our own terrorists, and we are hypocrites because we harbour these offenders in our homes and our families. Today's Street Gangs are terrorists and should be prosecuted as such. Immagine if these sorts had access to the money and weaponry factions like Hamas and Israel do; they'd be blowing up neighborhoods to a greater extent than they are right now.

When will we as a society, learn to implement in our pre-schools and day-cares that violence is wrong. Across the globe, in the U.N. and beyond, every country should be implementing anti-hate and tolerance programming beginning immediately.

Complacent citizens of the world, you may sigh and turn the channels, but this conflict is already finding its way into all of our lives. Synagogues and mosques are being vandalized as I write this.

Marches are being organized, and you can be assured that the more violent types are planning assaults. Do not be fooled into thinking this is more of a Middle East problem than a problem of our own.

Campaign today with anyone who will listen to begin educating our youth around the globe that we can all get along enough to ensure that every family can live in a certain amount of peace without infringing ideals on others.

Are beliefs worth lives? What good are ideals if everyone ends up dead? Or is that the point. Does Israel think if they just wipe out the entire strip that their problems will go away? There will always be someone else to dislike. Genocide has a way I suppose, but can there be another way?

Think PEACE today.

Here is a re-post of my rant from the other day:

Precious Cargo, Not Collateral Damage

History tells us that the events of Judea and Aliyah were commenced several times over the centuries but never by the indigenous peoples to which the rights belonged. Of course, dirt belongs to nature, and while I would deeply resent some entity removing me from my land, I think that if I was not an originating people I would not take it as hard.

For instance, should Native Americans repopulate themselves and kick us all out, who could be mad??

However, non-radical thinking has been the norm here in these States, and many of us can claim to be part of the native bloodline at this point, as I am sure is the case in Gaza and Israel and all of those neighboring borders.

Egyptians, Romans, French, and the British have all occupied the land. Hence, it was not for the British to "give"; but that is all history.

The world is transparent now. The propaganda of our politics no longer works. None of this makes sense to me. While I am Christian and have been taught my entire religious education that we are to love and support the Jewish for they have favor with God, I can not help but question who the real terrorists are.

We are all terrorists it seems. Genocide is the way of the world and we as human beings continue to perpetuate this madness, as if we don't bleed and feel pain just like the next one.

I can not help but feel responsible. Country after country after continent is murdering on behalf of some twisted belief system that promotes infanticide and execution. We support governments and crusades that terrorize others on moronic principles and egregious treachery.

How can we be "healthier, happier" with so many babies, on so many continents, dying for causes that aim to maim the masses for some gross economics or a politician's gain.

On the eve of a brand new year, shame on us all...
